Sponsorship of my new recording
Available Fall 2010 will be my double CD of rare gems and well-loved favorites of lieder, aria, and art song, from Purcell and Bach to Barber and Bernstein.
If you haven't already, please have a listen to the "Song Sketches." These are just "sketches," not the final recordings! I want to give you a sense of just how beautiful the songs and arias are that will be on the CDs.
The actual recording sessions went very well in June in California, after months of choosing and rehearsing the music and starting the fundraising. Now I am in post-production -- a very busy and exciting process. It involves choosing exactly which tracks to use from the marathon sessions, getting them edited, then designing and printing the CD booklet with translations and other info, and getting the final CDs duplicated -- plus more fundraising!
The project was not possible for me to take on financially on my own. Along the way, I have received $10,000 in generous gifts and CD pre-purchases from friends and music-lovers and so far the expenses have totaled the same amount. What is needed for this post-production end of the recording is an additional $6000. If you are interested in helping the project towards its completion, please consider sponsoring a song, sending a contribution of any amount, or simply pre-purchasing the double CD of gorgeous music for $25. The projected release date is June 2010.
Some people have chosen to underwrite the total production cost of a particular song or set of songs. This is a wonderful way to give a big boost to this labor of love! Below are all the songs that will be on the CD as well as the names of generous song-underwriters. Songs that are available to listen to as Song Sketches are marked with an asterisk.
